Counselling and Psychotherapy helps people struggling with everyday issues who may need additional support to help them through challenging events in their life or identify negative patterns of relating or behaviour in order to develop more positive strategies and patterns going forward.
Counselling helps people improve their sense of wellbeing, alleviate their distress, resolve their crises, increase their ability to solve problems, explore other opinions and empowers them to make their own decisions.
Psychotherapy may be more helpful for psychological problems that have built up over the years.
My aim is to help you through specific empathic responses, to make sense of what is happening in the ‘here and now’ and not just label your experience. I believe the key to success is through the relationship of therapist and client and I work towards a carefully boundaried relationship where you can feel safe, tell your story and really be listened to. I offer empathy and space where you can feel valued and talk in comfortable surroundings.
