So there we are - no magic wands or formulas:
I will begin by inviting you to talk and share with me your story about what is going on in your life and what your hopes are. We can then begin the work, which will be informed by one or a combination of different approaches (exploring inside and outside of your experiences), through our conversations together. The approach can vary from session to session, depending on what is best for you at the time. At times, we might just continue to simply talk.

Working towards YOUR goals and what YOU want to change is what the work will be about. And change is what it is always about.
How long does it take?
This depends on the issues you want to work on, the type of change you are hoping for and your own readiness to take the necessary steps.
Some clients have found relief in talking their problem through over a few sessions. Others, depending on their circumstances, have found between five and ten sessions worked well. For those clients where problems are more complex and have been going on for much longer, it has involved several months work.

This is as varied as the issues clients choose to discuss. However a common theme, whatever the presenting problem, is that the counselling has left clients with a sense of purpose and a feeling of being more at peace in their relationships and their lives.
